Nepal telecom "NT's" FTTH service for High speed internet at fixed locations.


{March 28, 2015:Link Nepal Telecom has launched high speed Internet service through FTTH in some limited areas of Kathmandu. FTTH is a next generation access technology to provide high speed, reliable and quality service to your fixed locations (home or office) through the use of optical fiber. FTTH is an acronym for Fiber to the Home, where there is connection of optical fiber to the customer premises, instead of traditional copper network. Customers can get high speed broadband internet service ranging from 1 Mbps to 100 Mbps, along with IP based voice and multimedia (Video) services that is slated to release in near future. To subscribe the service, customers need to fill up registration form for FTTH service in service counters. Till now the service is made available in NT Sundhara (for Durbarmarg, Kamaladi, Kathmandu Plaza, Jamal and Ghantaghar area), and NT Naxal for Sorakhutte, Thamel and Chhetrapati. The service is also being expanded to all the areas of Kathmandu city and to other major cities like Bharatpur, Pokhara, Biratnagar, Butwal, Birgunj.


According to NT, the service distribution is known to start from Chaitra 15, 2071 (Sunday).
Actually there are two sorts of Volume based Internet Package, one for data rate of 1 to 10 Mbps and another of 10 to 100 Mbps, which are priced with following packages.
